If the QuickBooks company data file is not open

Problem

QuickBooks is closed.

Solution

Open QuickBooks, then run the web connector.

Problem

You have paired our software and company file A. You have opened company file B and you are trying to run the web connector.

Solution

Unpair the web connector and company file A:

  1. In QuickBooks, open the company file that you paired with our solution.
  2. Go to File > Update Web Services.
  3. Click remove.

If you are unable to find the company that you have paired, follow these steps:

  1. Right click the QWC file and click open with and select note pad
  2. Change the <AppName> element to say <AppName>Live Connex for QuickBooks Web Service</AppName>
  3. Change the last character on the owner ID and the last character on the file ID. Then, add it to the web connector. In the example below, here is it was:
<?xml version="1.0" ?><QBWCXML>
  <AppName>Connex for Quickbooks Web Service</AppName>
  <AppID>10102</AppID>
  <AppURL> https://www.connexforquickbooks.com/QBWebService.asmx</AppURL>
  <AppDescription>Connex for Quickbooks Web Service</AppDescription>
  <AppSupport>https://www.connexforquickbooks.com/QBWebService.asmx</AppSupport>
  <UserName>admin</UserName>
  <OwnerID>{9dd007dc-235c-47a5-8aa9-fb92bfe1e690}</OwnerID>
  <FileID>{acd092b7-ec4b-4aa2-985c-0fd68769110f}</FileID>
  <QBType>QBFS</QBType>
</QBWCXML>

Here is what it would be:

<OwnerID>{9dd007dc-235c-47a5-8aa9-fb92bfe1e691}</OwnerID>
<FileID>{acd092b7-ec4b-4aa2-985c-0fd68769110g}</FileID>
